How the week runs

Three Days, One Plan

Day one

Skill Development

Ball handling, footwork and shooting mechanics, coached in small groups so every athlete gets corrected by name.

Monday, 5:00 to 6:00 PM
Day two

Skill Development

The same block again, because a skill taught once is a demo and a skill taught twice in a week is a habit.

Wednesday, 5:00 to 6:00 PM
Day three

Live 3v3

Everything from the first two days, used under pressure against other kids who are learning the same things.

Why 3v3

More Touches. More Reps.

At this age the thing that makes a player better is simple: how many times the ball is actually in their hands. A standard team practice splits that across a full roster, and the youngest kids are usually the ones standing in line.

3v3 fixes that by shrinking the game. Fewer bodies on the floor means every athlete handles it, defends it, and has to make a decision on nearly every possession instead of every fourth or fifth one.

It is also the fastest way to see whether Monday and Wednesday actually stuck. Skills that only work in a drill line show up immediately when someone is guarding you.

Ball in hand, not in line

Small-sided play puts the ball on every athlete far more often than a full-court team practice does.

Decisions, every possession

Pass, drive, or shoot, over and over, until reading the floor stops being something they have to think about.

Nowhere to hide

Three a side means a coach can see exactly what each athlete is doing, and so can the athlete.
